Inspirational Speaker - Ed Stafford
Ed Stafford has experience of surviving adversity in some of the world’s most remote jungle locations. Ed uses his experiences to inspire and motivate audiences to achieve their own personal goals and shows that is it possible to succeed even when faced with seemingly insurmountable hardship.
He is currently 80% of the way through one of the most dangerous expeditions ever undertaken – to walk the entire length of the Amazon River.
“My aim is to inspire others and to make people feel that they have a connection to the Amazon, its wonders and its problems. I also hope to motivate others to believe they can achieve their dreams, by listening to my story of what it takes to strive to become the first man ever to walk the entire length of the Amazon River.”
How he presents
Ed’s laid back, humorous style educates and enthralls. His presentation will be a mix of narrative and pictorial anecdotes and documentary filmed by Ed himself in the jungle. He will take the audience with him back to the jungle via his presentation and help to inspire them to see the life ahead as an adventure ready to begin.
His adventure has been described as one of the most dangerous and difficult expeditions ever undertaken. If he completes his goal he will be at “the very front line of human achievement” (Sir Ranulph Fiennes’ Transglobe Expedition Trust).
So far, Ed has encountered venomous snakes, severe floods, electric eels, jaguars and hostile local tribes, one of whom held him for questioning about the murder of one of their tribesman. The route is known for drug trafficking and terrorist activity and white people are often feared and rarely seen in the area.
Ed has had to remain focused, strong and positive. He has had to use his natural cunning, sense of humour and his innate ability to understand how to communicate with all the people he’s met along the way in order to both survive and to continue on his walk.
